  • Partnering with local organizations for regular shoreline clean-up projects.
  • Implementing advanced route optimization software to reduce fuel consumption.
Our focus areas

Five Environmental Pillars

Green Initiatives

Investing in eco-friendly technologies and promoting green logistics solutions to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance operational sustainability.

Water Preservation

Implementing stringent water management practices, including advanced ballast water treatment and spill prevention protocols, to protect the water quality of Lake Victoria.

Clean Air

Focusing on reducing emissions from our fleet and facilities through regular maintenance, adopting cleaner fuels, and exploring alternative energy sources for our warehouses.

Recycling

Promoting comprehensive waste reduction and recycling programs across all our sites to minimize landfill waste and encourage a circular economy.

Safety & Compliance

Ensuring the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance in handling all materials to prevent environmental incidents and protect our ecosystem and communities.

In practice

Active Programmes

Fleet Modernization & Emissions Reduction

We are actively upgrading our truck and vessel fleet to include newer, more fuel-efficient models that adhere to stricter emissions standards. This reduces air pollution and our overall carbon footprint.

25% reduction in emissions

Advanced Ballast Water Management

To prevent the transfer of invasive aquatic species, our vessels are equipped with state-of-the-art ballast water treatment systems. This is crucial for protecting the unique biodiversity of Lake Victoria.

Measuring what matters

Our Carbon Footprint Reduction

Quantifying our commitment to a greener future. Discover how our strategic shift to more sustainable transport methods is making a measurable impact on carbon emissions.

We believe that true environmental stewardship requires accountability. By meticulously tracking the volume of product moved via our lower-emission maritime routes versus traditional road transport, we can calculate our positive impact. This data drives our strategy and reinforces our commitment to sustainable logistics.

Every litre moved across the lake is a litre that did not travel by road tanker — reducing fuel burn, road wear, congestion and accident exposure along the Northern and Central Corridors.

Responsible oil management

Preventing Spills, Managing Waste Oil

Implementing state-of-the-art systems and rigorous processes to prevent spills and manage waste oil, safeguarding the delicate ecosystem of Lake Victoria.

Vessel & Facility Oil-Water Separators

All our vessels and port-side maintenance facilities are equipped with advanced oil-water separator systems. These units process bilge water and runoff, ensuring that only clean water is discharged, free from oil contaminants.

99.5% hydrocarbon removal efficiency

Double-Hulled Vessel Design

Our modern fleet is constructed with double hulls, providing a critical layer of protection against breaches. This design significantly reduces the risk of an oil spill in the event of a collision or grounding.

Enhanced spill prevention

Waste Oil Chain of Custody

Collection & Segregation

All waste oil from engine maintenance and operational activities is carefully collected and segregated at the source. This prevents cross-contamination and prepares the oil for proper processing.

On-site Filtration

Collected waste oil undergoes a multi-stage on-site filtration process to remove water, sludge, and particulate matter. This pre-treatment is crucial for effective recycling.

Certified Recycling Partnership

We partner with certified, government-approved recycling facilities. The filtered waste oil is securely transported to these partners for re-refining into industrial lubricants and other products.

Manifest & Reporting

A strict chain of custody is maintained for all waste oil. We use a manifest system to track every litre from collection to final disposal, ensuring full compliance and transparency in our reporting.
